Through My Eyes Foundation is a non-profit organization geared toward empowering communities of poverty from within through the use of documentary film-making.
By going into communities and working with a team of youth, we mentor them through the process of story boarding, filming, and editing a short film documentary.
Through this mentorship, it challenges the youth to use critical thinking to tell a story about their personal lives and communities and how to promote positive growth from within.
At the end of every working year, we will host a multi-city film festival to showcase the work of the youth.
Each youth involved in the program receives the money earned from the film festivals and they will have the freedom to decide how to best allocate the money to promote growth in their community.
Empowering them from within through the use of film by promoting critical thinking about their lives and communities and how to move forward.
